Activities update – August 2015

Editor News

Our residents continue to enjoy a detailed programme of activities and outings. A firm favourite is in house entertainment provided by visiting musicians such as Peter Chalmers, Billy Adair, Billy Riddell and Patrick Fox, such afternoons resulting in a party atmosphere that is very enjoyable indeed! We have also recently commenced ‘Dancercise’ classes twice weekly with Don Neo. Don’s energy and personality certainly rubs off on our residents and staff alike and these sessions are most enjoyable for us all. We enjoy visits from the Salvation Army and also look forward to weekly outings to the local Citadel.

The Polyphony Music Sessions and Polyphony Plus sessions produce excellent results every week and are also well anticipated by the residents. Sacrament continues to be offered weekly by our visiting Eucharistic Minister, Moira. Residents also benefit from visiting local Day Centres too.
We have been to Largs and Helensburgh during some of the summer days we have enjoyed these days very much. We have also enjoyed a day out in Loch Lomond and the surrounding areas. Residents look forward to an exciting array of summer activities, including a day out in Millport – here’s hoping the good old Scottish weather is forgiving!
